Balinese Astrology and the Pelelintangan Chart
Balinese astrology is significantly more complex than Western astrology. In Bali, a traditional system called Pelelintangan is used — a chart that cross-references two weekly cycles from the Pawukon calendar to determine your astrological sign.
- Saptawara: the 7-day cycle, like our week.
- Pancawara: the 5-day cycle, unique to Balinese tradition.
By using the Pelelintangan chart, and identifying your Saptawara and Pancawara based on your date of birth, you can locate your position on the chart and discover your Balinese astrological symbol and its spiritual meaning.

Instructions for performing a reading:
- Get the Pelelintangan Chart.
This traditional chart is available in Balinese calendars or specialized websites. - Determine your Saptawara and Pancawara.
You can enter your date of birth to convert it from the Gregorian calendar to the Balinese system. - Cross both values on the chart.
Locate your Saptawara day (7-day cycle) on one axis and your Pancawara day (5-day cycle) on the other. The point where they intersect will reveal your "star" or Bintang within the astrological system.
